Club Update 17.03.20 - CoVid 19

Dear All

In the light of the recent government announcement and guidelines, the Executive Committee have discussed the best way of protecting our members and have agreed to make the following changes to the use of the Club.  Again, as noted earlier today, advice is changing from day to day so we will keep these measures under constant review. We are very sorry to have to make these changes but hope you will appreciate that we are doing this with the safety and well being of our members in mind.

So, with effect from tonight; 

1. The clubroom, the kitchen, the erg room and the gym will be closed to everyone other than the residents who will continue to use the Clubroom but not the gym or the ergs.

2. Members may continue to train on the water provided that sensible precautions are taken to disinfect handles and other equipment that has been handled.  Squad training on the water will continue provided that people keep as safe a distance as they can from each other where possible. Coaches or squad coordinators will give more information on any squad outings to individual squads as the squad sessions may be staggered.

3. Members who are over 70, have a long term health condition or a weakened immune system should not attend the Club.

4. Members should only visit the club if they can travel to the club without using public transport or taxis - so on foot, by bike or in a private car.

5. The changing room can be used, if necessary, to leave valuables in lockers and to wash hands but where possible we would ask people to change before they travel to the club and after leaving the club. The showers are not to be used unless in an emergency (to warm someone up if they have fallen in the water).  All kit, other than wellies, is to be removed from the changing room as soon as possible preferably tomorrow.

6. There will be less people around the club (and around generally as a lot of the London rowing clubs have completely closed) so please be extra vigilant about locking up all doors when you leave the club.
