Senior Squad

Welcome to Tideway Scullers – one of the only Tideway clubs offering sweep and sculling, number capped squads, access to Championship head course and calm training water.

Tideway Scullers School was established in 1957 and has had Olympic representation at every Olympics since that date.

As well as its elite athletes, Scullers offers all athletes the chance to train and develop to achieve their goals whether the focus is on developing to trials standard (where small boats skills are essential), entering the major Head races or progressing from university sweep rowing into a more rounded athlete with both sculling and sweep skills.

We are a friendly club supporting development and achievement at all levels in a very friendly environment with squads covering all age groups.

Tideway Scullers is situated in Chiswick giving access to the championship head course down to Putney as well as great water towards Richmond.

Sweep and Sculling

Tideway Scullers is one of the only Tideway clubs to offer sculling and sweep to a high level.

Coaching Support

Our senior squad has capped squad numbers to maintain a high ratio of coach to athlete support. We also have 1:1 athlete-coach meetings to identify and support athlete goals.

Personal Success

Whether you're looking to trial successfully or simply improve your boat moving skills, we focus on developing athletes. At the moment, TSS has several current and ex-TSS athletes in the GB squad.

Flexibility

Our training programme allows for flexibility around work and other commitments to support athlete centred coaching, with evening and early morning training, and a focus on weekend water work.

We can offer accommodation within Scullers to facilitate training.

Networking and Mentoring

We may already have an athlete rowing here that is on the same career path you have chosen and we’re always happy to connect people to provide some first-hand feedback and advice. Our club has a strong Master’s Group (over 60 athletes) keen to mentor the career development of our senior squad men and women including medicine, graphic design, law, accountancy and HR.

Club Try Out Days:

We are still welcoming applicants for our Senior Squad. Get in touch if you would like to come down for a trial session. You will have the opportunity to meet the coaches and hear about our plans for the season, take a tour of our facilities and get on the water with the squad.
