FAQs
What are the timings of the course?
Unless otherwise specified, our courses will start at 10am and last for 2.5 hours. This is subject to change depending on the conditions on the water.
What will happen on the course?
The course is primarily focused on water skills. Unless adverse conditions prevent water sessions, the whole course will be on the water. On some of our courses, you will also have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers. In the past this has included the RNLI.
What boats will I row in?
Our course is primarily run in singles and you are welcome to bring your own single and rack it at the club. If you are booking a course with another person and you would like to go in a double together, we can also arrange for this.
We do not put out any sweep rowing boats as this is a sculling course.
Feedback
“Great course. Fab knowledgeable coaches. Good comms before the week and during the week regarding weather etc. TSS Juniors were a huge help, very willing and polite and chatty. Like the option for half days / days. Better ans more social able with the use of the clubroom ans tea and coffee. Few equipment issues but quickly solved.
Really enjoyed the week, meet like minded keen people and learnt a lot. I will be back!
Thanks to all.”

- Full day course
“Great coaching by Lucy and loads of hot tips. I was pretty nervous starting the course but it was very welcoming, and relaxed atmosphere. The juniors who were assisting were very helpful and well mannered. I had an aim to come away confident enough to scull on the tideway in a single scull and for me I feel I got there so thank you. I hope to continue to learn and improve.”
